Mirastar, A Community Development Financial Institution

Mirastar Federal Credit Union is certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

CDFIs are banks and credit unions with a history of creating opportunities and access to financial services while providing capital in low-income, disadvantaged communities. Obtaining CDFI certification is the latest step in Mirastar’s ongoing commitment to meet the needs of underserved communities.

CDFI certification allows Mirastar to apply for grants from the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, which will enable Mirastar to further our Core Purpose of “Bettering Lives; Enriching Communities” in areas with limited or no access to financial services.

For over 75 years, Mirastar has valued long-term relationships with our members by providing affordable products, free financial education, and opportunities to help build credit. As a local credit union, we give back to the communities in which we live and work. We extend support to organizations that support: Children & Education, Community Health & Well Being, Financial Wellness & Inclusion and Team Passion & Cultivating the Volunteer Spirit.
